Doorbell not connecting

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Not connecting to Nest or Google Home app.

It is ringing my doorbell inside but not showing up on apps.

Says connected to a different account.

The doorbell has been in this house since purchased. Stopped working when the router was changed.

I really need a customer service tech to call me before my wife makes me buy a Ring doorbell.

Geting nowhere

Original review Dec 18, 2024

I got charged $80.00 for a subscription I did not want or need. It's been over a month now and still nothing.

They keep gaining access to my email and keep lying, sending me to a million different people and getting nowhere. Then someone tells me it was processed, and guess what, still nothing.

Status on my replacement

Google Nest - Status on my replacement

I'm writing to file a complaint regarding the inadequate and frustrating customer service I have experienced with Google Nest.

On January 9th, 2025, my Google Nest thermostat stopped working. Since the device is still under warranty, I contacted Google Nest customer support for assistance. After following several troubleshooting suggestions that failed to resolve the issue, the support team issued a shipping label so I could return the defective device. In return, they promised to send me a refurbished replacement.

I received the replacement on January 16th, but upon opening the package, I discovered that it was incomplete; it was missing the back panel necessary to connect the wires. I immediately contacted customer service to report the issue. Again, they issued another shipping label, and I returned the incomplete replacement device to their warehouse, trusting they would send a proper replacement.

According to FedEx tracking, the warehouse received the returned device on January 21st. I followed up with Google Nest customer service to inquire about the status of the replacement. To my disappointment, they were unclear about the process and unable to provide any definitive timeline or resolution. Despite my efforts to expedite the process by providing proof of return and a signed receipt, there has been no progress or clarity.

This experience has been extremely frustrating, time-consuming, and unacceptable for a product under warranty. I expect Google Nest to fulfill its commitment to provide me with a functioning replacement device in a timely manner. Additionally, I request a clear and detailed explanation of why this process has been so poorly managed.

I trust you can assist in addressing this issue with Google Nest and ensuring the company upholds its obligations to its customers.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,

Jackie Rogers

No QR code or number in thermostat box

Google Nest - No QR code or number in thermostat box

I attempted to do this online after the thermostat was installed, but there was no QR code or long numbers to program. I was online for 1 hour and 15 minutes for an unanswered call, but I received no aid.

I have a 33-year-old bird and two sick, old dogs. I need heat and air. I have the model and serial numbers. Can someone please help?

Do not buy this from Nest; there is no support, and you cannot get in touch with anyone for help either online or by phone. There were actually dried worms in the box as well.

Missing Customer Service

Google Nest - Missing Customer Service

Initial purchase of Nest was great. Customer service was great, very helpful.

Recently tried to move system to new phone. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. All phone numbers have been disconnected. No human available to help customers.

Alternative:

1. "Community of users" Lots of questions posed, no answers.

Just going in circles.

2. Buy a simple thermostat that doesn't require high-tech professionals to service customers.

The actual cost savings of a Nest thermostat is minimal.

I now have two older Nest cam cameras and two new Nest Cam 2. I need to talk to somebody because these cameras run low on batteries even though theyre plugged in should I change some settings or should I return the camera cameras?

I need to talk to a human being. Call me at 510 326-****.

These are security cameras they should be on at all times monitoring for movement. I got some message that says this will use batteries, even if plugged in.

Google Nest FAQs

To cancel your subscription through the Google Store, visit the Nest Subscription Management page and sign in to your account. Select the Home, go to the Subscriptions section, and click the Cancel Subscription.
You can also cancel your Google Nest subscription through the Google Home app. Tap on your profile icon, go to the Subscriptions section, select the Nest Aware subscription, and tap Cancel.

To transfer your Google Nest device to a new owner, remove the device from your account by selecting the Remove Device option in the Settings section of the Google Home app. Perform a factory reset and cancel any active subscriptions. Finally, set up the device for the new owner.

The factory reset process depends on the Google Nest device. The Google Nest Mini (2nd Gen) and Google Nest Audio can be reset by sliding the mic switch to the off position and pressing and holding the center of the device where the lights are on top for 5 seconds. Keep holding for about 10 seconds more until you hear a sound confirming the reset. To factory reset Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen), press and hold both volume buttons together on the back of the device for about 10 seconds. On the Google Home device, press and hold the microphone mute button on the back for about 15 seconds.

To connect your Google Nest device to Wi-Fi, open the Google Home app, tap the + icon to add a new device, select "Set Up Device," and find the New Devices option. Select the Home where you want to add the Google Nest device and plug it in. The app will search for your device and prompt you to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Google Nest products aim to enhance convenience, security, and energy efficiency in your home. The Google Nest Mini and Nest Audio are smart speakers that allow you to play music, control smart home devices, and more using voice commands with Google Assistant. The Google Nest Thermostat helps you control your home's heating and cooling system. The Google Nest Cam can be used indoors or outdoors to monitor your home. The Google Nest Doorbell offers video streaming, two-way audio, and motion alerts, allowing you to see and communicate with visitors at your door from anywhere. The Google Nest Protect detects smoke and carbon monoxide, providing voice alerts and notifications to your phone.

If the Google Nest devices have a reliable internet connection, they update automatically, and you don't need to do anything for these updates. If you want to check for updates manually, open the Google Nest app and ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Nest device. Tap on the device you want to update and click on the Settings icon. Scroll down to the Device Information section, look for the "Software version" or "Firmware version," and you will see an option to update if it's available.

If your device isn't working, you can try using several Google Nest troubleshooting steps. First, ensure the device is plugged in securely and has power. If it's battery-operated, check the battery level. Next, make sure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Finally, check for updates in the Google Home app under the device settings. If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Google Nest support for further assistance.

To delete your Google Nest account, open the app on your device and enter your Google Nest login and password to sign in. Tap on the Settings icon in the top right corner and find the Account tab. Click the Manage Account button, choose the Delete Account option, and confirm your choice. You will then receive an email from account@nest.com. Read the email and click on the provided link to complete the account deletion process.
